Kings Dental in Garland, TX lives up to its name: quality materials, top laboratory partners, and restorative treatments that are an exceptional value. So, our approach to dentistry is “fit for a king”! The new tooth structure that we apply is made to look, feel, and function like “real” teeth. It’s also designed to last, as long as you keep up with good home care and professional cleanings. And, while we pride ourselves in “gold standard” procedures like veneers, our treatments do not cost a fortune. We believe all patients, regardless of financial situation, deserve a healthy, confident smile.
As with all treatments, Dr. Vidya Suri will determine if you are a good candidate for veneers. These thin shells of dental ceramic, such as porcelain, may be a great way to disguise imperfections if you:
During your visit with Dr. Suri, we may discuss alternative treatments. For instance, if you have more extensive cracks or damage, we may recommend restorative (rather than cosmetic) procedures. These treatments include tooth-colored fillings, inlays, onlays (partial crowns) and full-coverage crowns. We even offer two different types of veneers. In addition to indirect porcelain veneers, we also place direct veneers. The latter process is known commonly as “dental bonding.” Bonding represents a more affordable alternative to indirect veneers. Since the tooth-like (composite resin) material is placed and shaped directly on the teeth, these veneers may be completed in one visit. They also keep all of your natural tooth enamel intact. No alteration is required to prepare, place, and bond the resin to the fronts of the teeth. This characteristic eliminates the risks of sensitivity among patients with a history of such discomfort. Due to the nature of this procedure, it is considered to be more conservative than its indirect counterpart.
However, there are many advantages associated with porcelain veneers. For starters, porcelain is the superior dental material to rebuild tooth structure that is flawed due to chips, cracks, and other imperfections. It captures the properties of natural enamel perfectly, down to how well it reflects light. Modern veneers are very thin. So, only a minimal amount of enamel is removed from the tooth to make room for the veneer that is placed on top. Since so little of the tooth is altered, sensitivity is minimized. Due to the conservative techniques that are used to place the veneers, as well as advancements in bonding agents and dental materials, indirect veneers are incredibly durable. They combine an attractive balance of beauty and strength. Additionally, unlike other materials (including resins), porcelain resists stains. With routine home and professional care, your veneers can look as great and function as well as the day they were fixed to your teeth for years to come!
